A search for more winter pollack

Finally a bent rod!

It is always a trickier time of year locating the pollack at this time of year. So AJ and I embarked on an hour walk through the forest to some deep water I hadn't been to for 14 years!

It hadn't changed much, and I was glad to see there was still no path to one of the marks with my fondest early fishing memories.

It was tough weather with 40 mph gusts and sleet, but we powered on!

We finally found some fish after trying a few likely looking marks, with the fish lying a lot shallower than I had originally guessed. Every day is a school day!
